Blue Like Jazz: Nonreligious Thoughts on Christian Spirituality Overview

I never liked jazz music because jazz music doesn't resolve. . . . I used to not like God because God didn't resolve. But that was before any of this happened. In Donald Miller's early years, he was vaguely familiar with a distant God. But when he came to know Jesus Christ, he pursued the Christian life with great zeal. Within a few years he had a successful ministry that ultimately left him feeling empty, burned out, and, once again, far away from God. In this intimate, soul-searching account, Miller describes his remarkable journey back to a culturally relevant, infinitely loving God.

Blue Like Jazz
Donald Miller

This book offers a new perspective on Christianity through the life of Donald Miller. He writes in a way that the reader wants to find out what keeps the next page. One of the reasons why I liked this book because the author is very honest about his life with God, he talks about real life stories, when he responded to tough questions about God, the Church, and his personal life with Christ .
Some call it a contributionmodern writers. I do not think he is a postmodern writer, seems to think that only Christians call the wrong kind of questions about God and the world. Not afraid, the truth will be told Christianity in American culture. Tells of his experiences growing up without a father. He writes about his experiences in the Church and how he never felt included. Begins to narrate the book, as God is and how he felt, not really know him.
I would recommend one that thinks that the fact that Christianity, or has been wounded by the traditional church. I recommend it with caution, on a conservative, evangelical Christians. If you can, passing many of the legalistic traditions of meaning,We are in the Church as the way in which they were introduced to deal with Christianity, then this book is a great read. Think of your walk with God, as you can not love others as Christ, and will challenge you to some of the things you have learned to rethink, too.
